With the excitement of finally getting my Jeep running after years of a deep sleep I couldn’t resist taking my 1965 Jeep CJ5 for a spin around the neighborhood. Unfortunately the brakes were not completely effective and the transfer case slipped in to neutral on my long steep decent down the road to my mother’s house. After managing to steer the Jeep into my neighbor’s yard between his garage and bushes, I came to a gentle (yet abrupt) stop at his fence. Once the dampness of my soiled pants set in, in addition to the barking of my neighbors two dogs, I realized that both I and my beloved Jeep had survived my poor decision making. Needless to say my next project was all new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and replacement of the rubber brakes lines from 4WD Hardware.
