Congratulations to the Spring 2012 Catalog Cover winners Rich and David Wheeler! Rich is a homicide detective, while his son David rides shotgun on every trail. The Jeep is a 2004 TJ Wrangler Rocky Mountain Edition, and Rich has performed the upgrades himself.

Got some Black Diamond Plate by Warrior.
Front frame cover, rear plate, and corner guards.
Wish I could plate the whole Jeep!

When we met we both had bone stock TJ’s, My now fiance introduced me to 4wd hardware. After that the downward spiral began. We started off with bumpers, which then a winch was needed. The added weight of the winch meant we needed a budget boost. Then after the budget boost the stock rims and tires didn’t look quite right. So on went a set of rims and 31′s. Then we noticed the jeep didn’t quite move as well as it use too. Then we put an intake kit, cat back exhaust, and programmer. The pictures are our engagement pictures, we love that jeep more than any other vehicle we own.

2012 Trip to Gunnison, Colorado. Don’t remember the name of the mountain but one could see forever. Something like 13K feet. My grandson has asked me if we were in 4 wheel drive as we were climbing. Even though it was over rocks and such, I told him “No, not yet.” what a look I got! The trail up was handled with a set of new 32/11.50-15s BF Goodrich All-Terrain TAs that performed flawlessly.
